We’re heading out to Greer Stadium to watch the Nashville Sounds play the Round Rock Express at 2 this afternoon. It’s gonna be a hot one – 94 degrees! – so we’ve slathered on the sunscreen and at a friend’s recommendation bought tickets in the second to the last row of the KK section. Really we’re just going to eat hot dogs and drink beer outdoors with our friends, but it’s nice that a baseball game breaks out while we’re at it!
We buy our tickets online ($14.00 plus $2.00 service charge), print them out, and walk right in when we get there. But on hot afternoons, it’s also a good deal just to show up, buy general admission tickets ($10.00) and sit where ever you want because an afternoon baseball game is a hard sell on a hot afternoon.
No specials today, so we’ll have to pay full price for our beer ($7.00 for a domestic 20-ish ouncer) and hot dogs ($3.50 each). When you really need to cool off you can get a “souvenir cup of ice” for $1.50 and fill it up at the water fountain.
Your best bet for shade is in the upper sections (LL, KK, etc.). They stay shaded all day. You’ll see lots of families there with cute little kids. So watch your language.
If you want to go, let us know! We might just meet ya there.
The game didn’t end so well – 19-3. Ouch! But to our consolation we got a great pic with Ozzie!
